During a cash flow planning, individual items are defined that affect the flow of finance resources of the project. It may be created both per investor (incomes) and per subcontractors and internal departments (outcomes). The cash flow creation is based on information from the contract - when advances are to be paid, when an invoice should be issued and whether retention is used.

Cash flow may be linked to a price calculation line or to payment milestones of the project’s time schedule - in case of time schedule item shift, due date of a linked cash flow line may be automatically changed as well. A project manager may use it to easily create advances and invoices. All purchase and sales documents may be linked to a particular cash flow line and then an overview of a planned and actual resources flow may be obtained.

For a total cash flow view, the system includes a tool which displays both the resources flow in the individual periods as well as a whole evolution of cash flow, which may uncover potential problems with financial resources of the project. The view may be displayed either per a particular project, company department or company as a whole.
